A wellness coach helps you make positive and lasting changes to improve your overall wellness and quality of life. This may include things like stress management, self-care, sleep, nutrition, and fitness. A wellness coach helps you move from where you are to where you want to be. You take the lead and your coach guides and supports you on the journey.

Not sure what that looks like? Here are a few examples of results you can achieve by working with a wellness coach:

  • Prioritize your needs without guilt

  • Increase your energy and vitality

  • Achieve and maintain your healthy weight

  • Improve your sleep quality and quantity

  • Lower your stress levels

  • Lose detrimental habits and form positive habits

  • Feel balanced and fulfilled

Your relationship with your wellness coach is one of trust, positive support (which may include some honest tough love!), and results. There are no quick fixes, so you’ll be spending a good chunk of one-on-one time with your coach. It’s important for the two of you to be a good match.

How do you do that? Set up a short consultation call (these are usually low- to no-cost conversations) with a potential coach to get a feel for how your personalities mesh. Share why you’re exploring working with a coach and ask how your work with them will be structured. Ask the questions that help you decide if this is the right coach for you. Doing so helps the coach know if you’re the right client for them, too!

It is important to be comfortable with how a coach communicates with you and for you to feel comfortable communicating honestly with them. Remember, you will be challenged when working with a wellness coach. After all, long-lasting results require you to stretch and step out of your comfort zone! Your initial interaction should give you a glimpse into how the coach will guide and support you. You should feel good and never ‘less than’ during a positive coaching relationship. In short, trust your gut!

Overall, working with a wellness coach can help you feel more empowered and in control of your health and well-being. Through guidance, accountability, and support, a wellness coach can help you achieve your goals and live your best life.
