Think about when this type of thought shows up in your internal dialogue. Write down the circumstances and identify any patterns. For example, are these thoughts present in the background of your day? If so, when? Do they typically show up when you are trying something new? Are they invading your thoughts about changes you want to make? What do these patterns tell you?
What lies beneath these thoughts? Write down all the reasons for having them. Are they tied to past experiences, societal expectations, or self-imposed standards? Is it fear? Is it imposter syndrome?
Now that you know when these thoughts tend to show up and why you have them, rewrite your thoughts so they become your guiding star to opportunities rather than obstacles that hold you back. As you do this, you’ll notice the layers within each thought and that is where the true magic lies.
